OHHC SpotlightMcBurney Named OSHIIP Rookie of the YearDenise McBurney, Ohio Hills Health Center’s Certified Application Counselor, was named the 2023 Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) Rookie of the Year by the Ohio Department of Insurance, Senior Health Insurance Information Program. The Ohio Department of Insurance provides Medicare beneficiaries with free, objective, health insurance information and one-on-one counseling. This is Denise’s second year as an OHIIP counselor. “We are extremely proud of Denise for being named OSHIIP Rookie of the year. Denise is a dedicated employee, and she cares about the consumers she works with,” said Jeff Britton, CEO, OHHC. “This is a wonderful achievement.” OSHIIP educates consumers at no charge about Medicare, Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D), Medicare Advantage options, Medicare supplement insurance, long-term care insurance, and other health insurance matters. OSHIIP recognized Denise for her successful completion of certified training, technical expertise and professional demeanor. In her role at OHHC as a Certified Application Counselor, Denise is available to meet with individuals and family members regarding Medicare, Medicaid and the Marketplace and she can assist with the application process. There is no charge for her services, and everyone is welcome. Denise McBurney’s office is located at OHHC-Barnesville and consumers do not need to be patients at OHHC to utilize this service.
