OHHS Offers Sliding Fee Discount Program

Posted 02/19/21

Ohio Hills Health Services (OHHS) offers a Sliding Fee Discount Program in an effort to make healthcare affordable for all area residents.  OHHS is a federally qualified health center (FQHC). The mission of a FQHC is to provide quality healthcare in underserved regions and to treat all patients regardless of ability to pay.

Residents who are below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may qualify for a discount on the services provided at the OHHS facilities. The sliding fee scale is based on household income and family size. Individuals and families may be eligible for the sliding fee discount program if they are uninsured, insured with high deductibles, or have a lot of out of pocket medical expenses.

“Due to COVID-19 we know that some people in our area are hurting financially. We want people to know that we may be able to help them afford the healthcare they need and deserve,” said Jeff Britton, CEO, OHHS. “OHHS is committed to meeting the needs of area residents.”

OHHS has sites at five locations- the Barnesville Family Health Center, the Barnesville Family Dental Center, Caldwell Family Health Center, Freeport Family Health Center, Freeport Family Dental Center, Monroe Family Health Center and the Quaker City Family Health Center. Services offered include medical, dental, and behavioral health counseling.

Ohio Hills Health Services accepts most insurances, Medicare, Medicaid and all patients are welcome regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. Uninsured patients below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may also be eligible for prescription assistance with a discount card to use at contract pharmacies.

The sliding fee scale is available at the OHHS web page under the forms tab. The application process requires an applicant to list all household members and to verify their income. If you have questions regarding your eligibility or require assistance you can call Brandy Stephens, Patient Accounts Counselor, OHHS at 740-425-5087.
